Google Pixel 4a : Google’s Desperation?

Today on Aug 3rd, Google is going to release Pixel 4a and Pixel 5. These phones were speculated to debut at Google I/O in May but due to good old COVID-2019 situation, they canceled Google I/O.

As per the tweet by Ishan Agarwal, Pixel 4a is going to be a bigger phone than Pixel 5. Both of these phones will have 5G connectivity but the most interesting part about this new line up is Pixel 4a.

Pixel 4a is rumored to be priced at $349 which is a direct challenge to Apple’s new iPhone SE, which is priced at $399. But this is not it! Google is releasing Pixel 4a today, on August 3rd, right before One Plus Nord’s next sale that’s on August 4th. Google’s desperation to capture the market share can’t be any less subtle here. Also, Pixel 4a specification does look promising, a good enough chipset, better camera, bigger display, and above all, stock Android with the hope of continuous security updates.

Google Pixel 4a specifications:

Google Pixel 4a launch is going to take place around early morning US time that would be sometime in the evening in India. Keep a watch on Youtube as few tech channels might get early access.

These are all still rumors, but I am hoping for the best. Pixel 4a could become the Nord and iPhone SE killer in 2020 but only if the rumored price is correct. Indeed, nobody would like to buy an overpriced smartphone just because it has Google’s branding. As it is obviously not a half-eaten Apple to be all hyped up about!
