7 Cringe-Worthy Indian Television Moments We Better Forget

There is something unique about the current state of Indian TV shows, they never cease to amaze us with Cringe-Worthy Indian Television Moments.

In the earliest blog, we have showcased the beauty of our Indian Televisions. How the shows reflect the struggles and difficulties of common people, and how it is logically relatable with our day-to-day living. The 80s and 90s serials were truly a pearl that shines to this date. All the shows of the 90s and 80s were so gripping that stringed us with all our interest and curiousness. And then there came an era of “K” serials that ambiguously loaded the mind of Indian audiences with stupidity and extreme follies. Nonetheless, there were few shows that did exhibit some aesthetic craft and made a little sanity.

I remember watching all these serials with all my impulsiveness. I don’t know what nitty-gritty significance I found while watching these absurd serials. Perhaps, it’s all because I was too naive to understand the things. And, I am quite sure, there are millions of viewers like me who have watched these gibberish shows and now regret. Thus, to make you roll on the floor and laugh, I have come up with some of the irrational scenes that we stumbled upon.

These are 7 Cringe-Worthy Indian Television Moments We Better Forget

1. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Ansh Gujral’s death scene)

Hands down this will always top the list of the most Cringe-Worthy Indian Television Moments.

Kyuki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi is unquestionably one of the most outlandish serials of all time. A district like people living in the same house wherein they are married more than once and sometimes more than twice. Lol!!

Here, the blinking of a Diya implies someone’s death and the danger of life. Plastic surgeries are just like normal dressing of a wound. Coming to the most senseless scene where Tulsi Virani kills her own son Ansh Gujral. Well, what an empowering scene isn’t it? wait, the scene, however, was framed in the funniest way. Tulsi shoots him with a gun and then he is flying high in the air and the scene freezes. SPOILER ALERT- She did not use a shotgun. The Virani Khandan’s got some super strength.

Despite getting shot with a bullet, he is alive for the next 2-3 episodes. Miracle! Miracle!

2. Sasural Simar Ka (Simar turning into a housefly)

Just as the whole cast, the storyline, and the background score are annoying AF. There was a plot where Rolly (Simar’s sister) frequently uses Lord Shiva’s Trishul as her weapon. I guess Lord Shiva will also ridiculously discard the writer from the earth. The ultimate ridiculousness just not stops here, the real amusement begins when the protagonist of this drivel show turns into a housefly and do the wonder. There are many more events in this plot that makes you laugh till your stomach hurts.

3. Saath Nibhana Sathiya (Gopi washing the laptop)

I guess, whenever people will talk about cringe-worthy Indian television moments, this one scene will be there.

Well, I believe this one tops the chart too. This is the most trending meme material that has taken the internet by storm. Now, coming to the scene, here, Gopi Bahu has been taught by her wicked cousin Raashi that washing Ahem’s laptop will make him fall in love with her. And the very innocent, oops, pardon me! The very idiot Gopi washes the laptop with detergent powder. I would like to ask the makers that aren’t this an insult to the maximum 80s and 90s housewives? It is shown in the serial that Gopi is illiterate, hence, she doesn’t realize the technology and gadgets thus ends up washing the laptop. This means uneducated people don’t know anything about gadgets.

“Kya bakwaas Hai”.

4. Thapki Pyar Ki (Gorilla falls in love)

This particular show is yet another example of awful makers that have guttered the essence of creativity. Do you remember the Rajnikant’s movie Robot? where the Robot develops feelings for the actress i.e. Aishwarya. Shankar has shown this angle with a lot of convincing points. But the creators of Thapki Pyar Ki don’t give a damn about the term “Logic”. They displayed a plot where Gorilla fells in love with the lead character i.e. Thapki. We know that animals do have emotions but this level of emotion and ardor is on another level.

PS: I would like to give a Thapki (pat) on the shoulder of the makers of this show for depicting this type of rubble love story. Also, we know that the concept is a stolen show from King Kong.

5. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai (Covid-19 effect)

Yeh Rishta Kya kehlata hai, yet again a foul show that crushes logic in their foot. As far as I know this show, this family is first of all, unbelievably rich and has no problem at all. Yet they create problems of their own like the lead actor gets stuck in traffic, the lead actress cooks for the first time, hence, she is nervous. The puja ki thali is not ready, one of the members is missing from the party. Omg… so much stress!! And then the internet was flooded with various memes when the makers thought to blend the salt of Covid19. Well, good you are showing the reality, but wait, how? by making the lead actor kiss the lead actress through the mask shield, handing over sanitizer, applying sanitizer before romance, and so on.

Don’t know which pandemic is more miserable, the corona or the everlasting show “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai”.

6. Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 ( Actress gets packed in a suitcase)

I don’t have any idea about why the first season of this was telecasted and how the hell the 2nd season got on-air. While surfing through the internet I came across a brief video wherein the lead actress of this show was smashing her eyes because of some dust. After that, while smashing and walking simultaneously, she gets muddled with a suitcase and gets locked into it. Later, someone carries it and escorts her somewhere. Also, the actress’s expressions have been shown beneath the cover of the suitcase. Ufff… it took a lot of patience for me to elaborate.

What’s the philosophy of this scene in real life? “PHILOSOPHY” what’s that? slow clap for the makers.

7. Naagin (Turning into a human and whatsoever they want)

When we talk about the bizarre serials and scenes how can we even forget this masterpiece?

This serial is the epitome of irrelevant, unscientific, and implausible content. I guess scientists will jump out of their roof once they catch-up on one of the glimpses of this show. Here, snakes take revenge and turn into whatever they want. The scenes are framed in such a way that they become unintentionally hilarious. The over-loaded makeup, unconventional costumes, and most importantly absurd scene transitions will make you go insane. In season 4 I saw the lead actor jumping from a huge mountain and the lead actress who is the Naagin follows her by jumping with him. And then they are having an intimate eye contact filled with romance while covering the distance between the mountain and the ground.

Matlab Kuch Bhi!
