Start your lecture with greetings and interaction-
Try to greet your students with a smile on your face It will help them to feel your positivity and they will attend your class wholeheartedly. Invest your 5 to 10 minutes to interact with students who were unable to attend your last class due to their illness or any other reason. Ask them how they are feeling now and show them that you really care about them and their studies. It will motivate them to attend your class regularly.
Last class revision-
Try to repeat the topic of the last class along with the points and discuss in a way that they can participate. It will help them to memorize the lesson in your class only and they will try to read their lessons at once after the class. They will work on your home works if you make the discussion interesting. This will help the students to remember what they have learned.
Use fun teaching strategies-
Try to make your students attentive and for that, you need to include fun activity in your class. Connect your topic with the living topic and it should be funny. You may give them some puzzles to solve. Sometimes you may discuss the personality and behavior of a particular in a funny way and teach them how it affects our lives.
Avoid homework overload-
In the case of online teaching, you should avoid giving heavy homework. Instead, you can give them puzzles to solve based on chapters and suggest them good storybooks to read at home. Reading book will enhance their interest in learning and they will not feel overburdened and will eventually learn to manage time.
Recorded Lectures-
Try to record your lectures. It will help absent students to watch your lecture completely as you taught. Also, it will help students to recall if they missed any point in the ongoing class. It will help you as well to prepare for your next class and you can analyze if you made any kind of mistake or anything that you may explain in a better way. So, you must record your lecture and it should be of good quality.
